Need help with Schwinn ID

Hey all,

If anyone could help me id the model of this bike I would really appreciate it.

I think I am going to restore it to single speed. It would just cost to much to restore it to original condition from its current state.

The serial number is CP518423. It is on the lower head tube. The number on the head badge is 0748.

So i think it is from 1978 but would like to know what model it is.

Did they make the varsity as a 15 speed? The bike ive got is 3 in the front and 5 in the back. Could have been modified, maybe. Anyone have any other suggestions?

in 1978 15 speed gear sets were available as an upgrade.
