I kinda just went for the bmx/rat look.
I think the fork brace is actually called
a truss....but I might be wrong.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the
bike. Working on this bike takes me back to
the seventies working on my Stingray !

I hear the term "klunker" a lot. What does it mean?

some one else can give a more detailed description of it but in a
round about way it mean's....

"The Begining of Down hill...and ALL Mountain Bikes"

it started in Marin County, California.
guys would take Old Schwinn Cruiser Frames with big Knobie tires,
straight bars, modified brakes and gears...trick them out

...and Race down hill in Bell Bottom pants, knee pads and a lot of guts

this is a link Multipass...another BMX lover like me.... posted way back..

this is the true form, shape and look of a Klumker.

hope this helped Lurker..

hooch, thanks for that link. i grew up in Fairfax, got my first bikes, and parts from the nice mechanics at sunshine bikes in fairfax. I was pretty cool watching mountain biking being born. We would bomb those same hills on our bmx, sideways.
Pretty cool reading about all that, thanks.
