That would be cool if you had the tank plate in the middle and let the tubes go through on the outside like you have in your mockup. Gives it form without interrupting the lines.

Weel...After spending waaay too much time messing around with foam for my tank mock up:

...I decided to listen to JoeyMac and markem and do this:

24 ga. steel from a local supplier, I bought a 24" x 36" sheet: $5...

Made from scratch from strap I had to mount a satellite dish...

Rear mounting bracket (bought from Ace Hardware and modd'ed by me)

Soooo...Now I need to find a better rear wheel (this one's really out of round), a matching left side crank and new pedals...
