mini trailer balls

So,
I have s trailer, it's no picnic with any kind of weight in it.
I want to eliminate the big tongue arm, go to a ball type hitch. A miniature ball, say 3/4" dia. Anyone know of any?
I have exhausted all my Google search ideas.

How much weight do you haul? What if you re-purpose the ball and fitting connection from the lift struts on a rear door of a station wagon or SUV?

-The automotive ball studs for hydraulic openers/dampers is what I was thinking of.
That radical ball is what I will use.
I haul any where from a couple gallons of drinks to a weeks worth of groceries, up to 50#s.
Less than the trailer is rated for!
