The front wheel shows a 1 of 68 date code and has a union hub. If anyone recognizes that stamp mark, please tell me who made these wheels.

The rear rim is stamped 4 of 67.

I also didn't like the WSW tire I bought for the front. I was looking at how it had much more white on the sidewall as opposed to the rear slick. So a reduction in white was in order as can be seen in this side by side before and after photo.

Here it is out in the sun. Still need to have some decals made. I will have to wait a little because the decal man is working on another project.

I will be putting the reflector on the back as soon as I find it in all the stuff. I have never been able to find the correct black headbadge. But I am working on a solution. Also I'm not real happy with the original front fender. Just too much speckling. Going to check my fender stash.

Wow - looking great, love the color ( and agree, good work with rattle can paint ).
The rim looks like a Rigida/rigidea to me, quite possibly original, since Vista used varied off the shelf components. Still looking for a S2 Araya for mine.
Keep me in mind on the decal when ready ( although I need white, not black, if that is an option).

Yes,the rims are original to the 68 Vista Colleen I parted out. I think you might be right about the origin being Rigida. I remembered seeing the little diamond somewhere before. How about a pic of your Vista? Not all models used Araya S2 rear wheel. Many 300 & 400 3 speed models used a complete Columbia wheel. But if you should happen to find a truckload of S2 rims, keep me in mind. Vista decals were white or black depending on paint color. Gold gets white.

I'm still stuck on the front fender. I have taken it off and am showing a side by side comparison with Sting-Ray counterpart. Very close match and better condition.

I have made a bracket that will allow me to mount the coaster brake fender to the caliper brake.

Here it is mounted to the fender. Used a fender rivet instead of the pop rivet.

Now if the sun comes out tomorrow I will take a full shot of the bike.

Little overcast today but I could still take some pics with the updated fender on the front. Ok, now I'm happy with the fender. I also found the reflector in my parts stash.

Yesterday I decided to try and use the original headbadge that came on the 68 Vista Colleen girls bike. It was in bad shape. Common problems that we've all seen before, bent, crinkled and faded or missing paint. Since the letters were not embossed, I flattened the bends out and made it a flat piece of aluminum again. I could barely make out the the lettering so I used a marker to show were they are so I could reference them later from a photo. A trip to Hobby Lobby for supplies got me the 1/8" masking tape and 1/4" stencils.

Now to tape up the border so it will stay natural aluminum.

Then I sprayed it white and let dry for a day. Now today I taped off the edge to leave a white border and I put the letters in place.

I have now sprayed it black and will let it dry before removing the tape and stencils. I'm hoping I don't find any bleed through or that the tape and stencils don't remove the paint underneath. This little part required such tedious work I hope I don't have to take lacquer thinner to the whole thing a start over!

Well my worst fears came true. The face pulled the paint off. So I went back to the drawing board and started over by taping the boarder and painted the head badge black background first. I pulled the tape off right after I was done painting. Good, didn't pull any black off. This time I am using white pinstriping tape for the white boarder. Now I need to find small white letters to stick on. Hope it will work because I'm running out of ideas.
