Impossible bike lock

Saw this in Scotland a couple of weeks ago. Glanced at it and thought "wait, what?" Cruelest practical joke ever?

Definitely been there for a while, look at the scratches on the top tube from the limited movement it has because of the U-lock. Also, a rusty drip spot under the rear deraileur. Odd.

HAHA awesome. Reminds me of the show "Reno 911" from a few years back. Something similar happens to one of their patrol bikes with a lightpole when they walk away to do something.
