I just got a '62 Schwinn Corvette (I haven't been able to shut up about it!* ** ***) and I was wondering if it is possible to mount a newer older balloon style tire on the rims, within fork and frame dimensions. I would love to throw some fat white or red walls on it. I will go out and get the rim and tire sizes in a few minutes and post them here.
Thanks.

OEM for 62 Schwinn Corvette would be S-7's which are larger diameter than "generic 26in". There is only one larger tire available that is 26 X 1&3/4 X 2. Otherwise nothing. If you want legit balloon tires you need to swap the rims to the "generic" non S-7 style. Balloon tires will fit in your frame and fork.
