How did a break this stupid....

Okay all I did was move a shifter, 7sp shimano twist, to the other bar end and now it wont go into 1 or 2 ??? I suck at life right now.

said it was a twist grip right? did the grip part pop off so there was a gap where the cable wraps around inside? if so you will probably need to take it to a bike shop and get them to snap it back together. otherwise like mentioned before if there is too much slack in the cable when you are in high gear you wont get all the gears.
