Probably wouldnt work for the heavier tubing, but if you build with EMT conduit, then it looks like it should do the trick.
Same basic concept as the Harbor Freight machine, but made from wood which makes it more on the light duty side of things, try any heavier tubing and it might flex, or even fail altogether, but who knows... maybe if its beefed up a bit???
