Looking for a bit of info on this frame I just picked up. I think its a 50's Heidemann Bicycle Works Rotorjet. The BB measures 1.5" i.d. and I'm having trouble tracking one down. Any ideas?
Thanks guys, and thanks for the parts offers. I found out that it takes a 40mm BB. Thompson makes them. Only found a cottered versions...fyi for others that run into a similar problem. Ordered one and found a crank to go with it off an old Sears bike.
Cool find. The design would lead me to believe that it's West German in origin. The tapered head tube like that is usually found on folding bikes, I haven't seen it used on a cruiser, that's kind of a unique feature. I have a very similar JC Higgins with the 40mm thompson bottom bracket that is from 1956, I would assume this bike dates to somewhere around that time as well.
