Update! changed a few things on the Hawthorne, scroll down for the new pics.

I finally finished my Hathorne build!
My goal was to make the bike look old and beat up and I think i nailed it! this was my first
rat style build and I'm really happy with the way it turned out..

I started with a old late fifties early sixties hawthorne, I got off of craigslist, actually it was a preachers bike and I'm the second owner. I wonder if he would like it?

heres what she looked like the day I brought it home.

I got the rims and tires off a old huffy tandem, really heavy duty rims.

I know there is bare metal showing in some places I'm gonna let it rust naturally!
i had a ton of fun building this bike and it didnt cost a fortune i have like 75 bucks in the whole thing, also
I'd like to thank everyone here for all the great Ideas and inspiration.
Now its time to start my next project!

updated pics
I added a set of lights and a truss rod setup from a 48 higgins and a new set of forks.
