I started a build here http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12075 back in December, but I put it on hold when I lost my job and haven't gone back to it yet. I got a job a few months ago and instead of getting back to the AMF, I built this Hawthorn for a friend on commission from her husband(who is also a friend). I didn't take many build shots so it's going here in the gallery. It was a middle weight frame so I swapped the front fork and added some balloon fenders so I could run balloon tires. The pinstripes and art work were done by a guy here in Phoenix named Asher, you can check his stuff out here http://www.myspace.com/poboykustoms

Before: Mock-up with new fenders and fork.

Re: Hawthorn girl's bike

Interesting. That's the first pinstriper I've seen that could do full curl scrolls. All I've ever seen are just ellipses. Gary

Re: Hawthorn girl's bike

Thanks for the kind comments, I'm glad you guys like it. It was a pretty easy build for me since all I had to do was paint the flat white canvas. The bike's owner is from Texas, that's why it has kind of a Texas theme with the yellow rose and horse shoe. The couple is moving to France for a few years, so this bike may lay some rubber on french cobble stone.
