Yup. Just like a shaft-driven motorcycle, it's just a different way to get power to the rear wheel (instead of a chain). I'd be interested in seeing how it mates to a standard hub, though... that would be interesting indeed.

Also, since I said I could build one similar to these, I did some research on eccentric bottom brackets... and the conclusion is they're not cheap, but still an option if you wanted to build a 1x1 chainline on a frame with vertical dropouts. It would be tough to build one cheaper with all-new components, for sure. And it still wouldn't look as nice.

But I might build one anyway... ;)
