Funny fork on Ebay

The guy selling this fork on Ebay says he's sure it was factory made this way. Its a Schwinn springer, but Schwinn never would have made anything so bad. The fork looks like an anaconda that just swallowed a pig :shock: . Check out the price.

Where holes were drilled in the tangs will be weak points, where the struts attach.

Looks like someone drilled a set of 26" springer legs and bolted on a set of 20" struts. WOW! That is wrong on several levels. :roll:

that wouldn't account for the 28" length though. They look kind of professionally done or factory (something) to me. Since the patina on the S bolts and headset doesn't really match the finish on the rest of the fork could be some hardware swapping going on.

Someone took an old Shcwinn springer welded on some forks as extentions brazed it up and got it chrome dipped, still looks like heck for that price.

Someone made a chopper with a springer. Looks like it would fold just below where the truss rods are bolted on if you hit a big bump. Neat idea, poor design. Gary
