my sister bought this for like $40 when we were in the mountains the other weekend.
Clayton, Georgia has a really awesome flea market. i also got my 1969 typhoon the same day.
anyhow, since money is tight for us all, for xmas i am fixing it up for her.
the front wheel and rear tire were shot but everything else was in pretty good shape.
when we got it home(in pieces, as we had to fit this, the typhoon, 2 dogs and 3 people in her CRV)
i bought a new front wheel at performance last weekend while they had a sale. it was only like $22.
i also bought 2 new tires - slick road tires - 26x1.25
i learned a valuable lesson....26 x 1 3/8 is not only a different tire width, its a different wheel size.
got the 26 x 1 3/8 at my LBS for the rear.
the regular 26" is a little smaller an you can tell there is room under the fender. still looks good though.
i cleaned the crap out of the bike, got it all put together, new chain too.
i also added the rear baskets. gotta have a place to carry your purse!
got it ready for a test drive, went to the street, and snapped the shifter cable on my first shift. it must have been hangin by a thread.
i have to get a new shifter cable.....i had a bunch, but sold them all to one of youguys!
check it out....i think it cleaned up real nice.
she already has a nice bianchi hybrid, but i think she may get the bike fever from being around me and my bikes.
this one is gonna be really cool for goin to the bar.
