First Rat Rod Confinscated 2 More Choices

My first attempt at a ratrod was confinscated by my 10 year old. It is the 24 inch Monark Rocket. I now have 2 more choices an old Schwinn Balloner that I really like or a spaceliner. What do I try next?

I think that Schwinn is the perfect "Rat" base. Throw some nice wheels with color on it, maybe a ridable seat and grips, and maybe a new chain? Overhaul all the bearing parts... Sand that patina to smooth and hit it with some flat clear and you're done!

I really like that Monark. Your son has good taste!

I would preserve the Spaceliner as is, and dig into the Schwinn. :|

Looks like the Schwinn has the right amount of rust for a rat,I'd go with that one.Cool bikes

I'd take the Rocket back from the kid and send him to his room with no supper. I love the Rocket. Gary
