I just did the math, and discovered that I have an extra Schwinn middleweight frame, and an extra set of S7 wheels.

Does anybody know the fattest tires I can fit? I don't want to switch rims, but I can puff out the frame if needed. It is just the "26x1 3/4" size that get's me.

I have some of those 26 x 2 x 1 3/4 tires for my wife's bike, but can anybody think of anything even fatter that can fit in there?

Go back to CCR's post and pay attention.
"NOTHING ELSE WILL FIT"
.
The Schwinn S-7 rim/tire, 26 X 1 3/4 (571) as differentiated by the fractional notation is not the same size as any rim/tire notated with a decimal measurement.
"26" inch tires (559) in sizes 1.75, 2.125, etc are not the same.

I've looked for years. The widest is the 26 x 2 x 1 3/4. It fits the middleweight frames easily. It even fit on a Varsity lightweight, barely though.

A little research shows that someone is making such a tire: CST Cruiser 241 Tire (Cheng Shin). It is a 2 inch for the S-7 rim. Very odd for such an obsolete rim but lucky.
