Anyone ever made a laid back seat post with an old leaf spring style tractor seat spring? My idea is to fill in the seat post and tap it so it has internal threads. Then you can attach the leaf spring from the tractor seat to the seat post with a heavy duty bolt. Most of these tractor seats have a long hole on the bottom so you would be able to adjust it back or forth depending on the rider's fit needs. You'd also be able to adjust it up and down because it's all attached to a normal seat post that will slide up or down the seat tube. Now you'd have a plush ride with the shock absorbtion from the spring, and also have the laid back look.

What do you guys think? Doable or totally ridiculous?

I'll post pics if I end up trying it.

It could be done, given the spring can handle the torsin put on it by the weight of the rider (too much flex?)
Here's a motorcycle that used a similar application (opposite of what you're saying I think).
