I have a NOS Schwinn coaster brake rim stamped 26 x 1 3/4 S7. Is this the only tire size this rim will accept? I see several Kendas on Ebay. Does the s7 mean anything?

What I am doing is using this rear rim on a beach bike that carries 26 x 2.125s. But thats not an issue if both tires are different.

Yes I know but will any other size fit? All I found are 26 x 1 3/4 nothing else. Will that size look funny on a beach cruiser? What was Schwinns "balloon" size?

One thing to remember is that with bicycle tires, the size marked on the sidewall is the tire size, not the rim size. What this means is that there are half a dozen 26" tire sizes, none of which are compatible with any others since the rim diameters are different. You're stuck with a 26 x 1 3/4 S7 unfortunately. You also need to make sure when buying tires, since sometimes sellers dont understand this and will sell you the wrong tire.

Using the ISO number can be helpful. Each iso number is a different diameter rim. Your standard 26" cruiser/mtb/balloon tire/Schwinn S2 is ISO 559. The Schwinn S7 26X1-3/4 is ISO 571. Schwinn S4 26x1-3/8 and 26x1-1/2 (650b) is ISO 584. Schwinn S5-S6 26x1-1/4x1-3/8 is ISO 597. There was also a 20" S7 and S2, as well as a 27" S6, if things weren't confusing enough.

Thanks evetybody. Heres what I am leaning toward. Cheapest I found free shipping too.

I ordered the 26 x 2 x 1 3/4 Sunlite whitewall today much cheaper than Ebay from my local Dicks Sporting Goods store.
