Brooks Saddle Question

I've been wanting one for my road bike for some time but could never get myself to spend the money. I came across a used one at a shop for 50 bucks. It has some small cracks but seems to be in pretty good shape. Not that I really know what good shape is. I could also get a new B-17 for 100 bucks. Whats the risk of buying a used Brooks, will it form to my booty again? Is 50 bucks too much, seeing how I could get a brand new for 100? Thanks guys for the advice.

I have bought 3 or 4 used leather saddles. The biggest item to look for is minimal cracking around the rivets. Also make sure the top looks the same on both sides.
