Here is my first rat-rod bike build. It is an AMC Caravan that I think was built in the early sixties. I swapped out the wheels, handle bars, grips and cleaned up the chrome from the "original" bike that I bought. I was having a hard time finding a rod and truss style fork, so I made my own. I don't have a welder so creativity was the idea. I took a one inch, over-size washer and bolted two ground wire connectors to it. I then shaped the washer with a hack saw and grinder. The rods I just bent in a vice and eye-balled the angles. My next add-on is red/brown balloon tires.

Randy,

I used 1/4 in. standard aluminum rods from the hardware store. I used the same ground wire connectors but bored the hole out to fit the size of the axle.
