Bike racks/carriers

Hi all,

I was wondering if any one knows of a company that makes bike carriers for classic/vintage cars?
Or a good source of original roof racks etc...

I need a bike carrier for my old vw for shows next year.

Any help would be great. Al

I'm facing the same problem as you. Been wanting to alter a roof rack for my bug to hold some bikes. A guy over at the samba posted this pic, I plan to use the same idea but with two rails, and shorter to fit 20-26" bikes. Hope this helps.

Do any of the aftermarket vw manufacturers make racks for squares/notches? I don't think I've ever seen one.

Not that i know of, although Desmo ones come up for sale on occasion.

I was thinking of maybe making a bumper mounted one out of steel tubing with a couple of 'prongs' at the top! It looks great in my head,although making that picture reality may be fun! :roll:

Mainly because my engineering skills are like my platting fog skills!! I still think your idea of making a custom one for me is a great one! :wink: And you would only need to ship it about 4 thousand miles. :lol:
