Sorry if this is a noob question, but I'm stripping down to my frame to get ready for a little sand bath and I'm not sure of the proper way to remove my bearing cups from my bottom bracket...

Do I just tap them out? I just don't want to warp them.

EDIT: finally searched for the right words and found a helpful thread! My appologies for clogging things up with what's already been discussed. These forums are great!
 
They are hardened steel , you won't hurt them. I use a 1x1 stick a foot long and just bang them
out from each side. Hit them from the back and they pop out.
