Here's my latest build & daily rider. A friend saved it from the local recycling yard for the princely sum of $2.00 American, while hunting Stingrays.
My favorite color (!), straight frame, and the price was right. As received:
The fork needs work and was replaced with a red one. I then threw a 26" skinny tyre/rim on front (from a borked Schwinn Racer, RIP). A Dyno Super Slick on an (ancient) Huffman (Silver Rocket) rim brings up the rear. My favorite style wide apes keep me upright and cognizant of my surroundings. The crate is mounted on a repaired 9-hole green 50's Schwinn rack, and is handy for carrying assorted small grocery items and 30 packs of Old Style. Battleship grey SNAFU platform pedals and a 5-spoke "Mag"-style single speed drivetrain deliver power to the rear. She proudly wears the patina of 40 or so harsh midwestern climate cycles.
