Auto headlight

I've been looking at all the bikes here on RRB and notice a few that have large headlights. I'm thinking of using an old car headlight bucket converted to an H4 bulb for a headlight. Is that what some of these bikes have done? If so how'd they wire it? What did they use for a powersource?

My Flatliner is using a light off of a mid 70's Kawasaki. The box on the back has a 12v gel-cell battery with an inline fuse.

I know some of the builders have converted to led lights. That way you could use smaller batteries.
