That or find a real stiff spring to replace your old one like from a motorcycle springer or from a porch swing.
 
If you use something like "rubber" fuel line it will still absorb road shock but reduce the pedal pogo effect. (I assume, pehaps mistakenly, that's the source of your question) If you're not heavy, just screwing the spring bolt as far as you can makes quite a difference.

Slip a piece of tubing inside the spring, around the bolt. That ought to keep it from compressing.

used some metal tubing from a small jack....fit perfect around the bolt....thanks for the tip....hope there isnt any problems with it being in there.
