American Bicycle Company?

Just spotted this on a nearby Craigslist. It's made by the American Bicycle Company. Never heard of them so I looked them up. Next to no information online. The wikipedia page has a short paragraph and makes it out to be a conglomerate of bicycle companies. Makes sense, but the date was somewhere around 1899-1900. This bike looks like it might have been from the 70's. Am I missing something here?

That's a late 60's early 70's bike. Maybe a Columbia, going by the sprocket.

I agree. It looks a lot like the Columbia Roadster that I have.

Thanks, it is tucked away somewhere in my bike stash. I need to clean it up and sell it (after I take the grips).
