I missed this really cool tandem. Both handle bars are linked to turn together. At Carlisle Pa.'s automotive swap meet I checked by this booth numerous times and never found anyone there. I had so much DROOL in my mouth I probably couldn't have talked to them anyway. Oh well.

Those are beautiful! They are both Colson made, I believe Colson Corp. was the pioneer and inventor of that setup. I think that model was called the "rear-o-steer" or something along those lines and was introduced in '38 or '39, possibly '40, if I am not mistaken. REALLY COOL! It's a real shame you missed this, those are rather rare... it looks like that yellow one even has a drum brake setup up front.

WOW! I dig my Rollfast, & the homemade Schwinn w/dual steering & Phantom parts I saw at Saline was pretty sweet, but that is the coolest blanking-blankety-blank tandem I've ever seen! I don't care how much it weighs!

 now that is something i've never seen before. that must be the oldest tandem ive ever seen, and maybe the coolest. with the captain and stoker both having steerable handlebars, this is the perfect bike for an old married couple to ride.

Great tandems! Here's a pic of one with that same steering setup, missing the rods and chain. If I knew where this bike was, I'd go get it.
