Picked this one up today locally...I'm guessing it's a 1984 or 1985 model.

Not sure what is supposed to be on this bike and what is not.

I'm thinking all of the red stuff is wrong.

Re: 80s GT PRO PERFORMER

Nice find..those fork pegs took my back about 20 years..lol. -waiting on the detail job-

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with this.

I'm very tempted to keep the cranks and sprocket and part out the rest.

Waiting for the BMX gurus to chime in. :D

i'd be interested in the stem and handlebars. anyway back to the back, a white gt mallet stem would look sick w/ the original gt performer handlebars that i just sold along with a stock white gt plastic seat. i also had the gt performer mags on mine that were also white. let me dig around to see if i have any pics of mine laying around.

It's hard for me to know what's original to these bikes sometimes. BMX/Freestyle bike guys were always switching out parts.

Great find

Hey stranger, go back to the dark side.
vulture

Just kidding

Miss seeing your posts around here

Merciful Heavens! That's a GREAT catch. There's a lot of top shelf stuff there. CW bars, Pro Neck stem, MX 1000 brakes, Redline cranks etc.

The frame/fork is a 1st generation Performer & the 4 hole drop outs lead me to believe it's a late 1st gen.

In the world of vintage freestyle BMX, this is definately an "A" list bike

Those are actually Sugino / Redline 400's

they are not 401 Single Pinch Flights..

they are Sugino 400's 2 piece..
the Spider is integrated...and these run a Square tapered Spindell
unlike the 401's that are made after these with a Splined spindel.

Steve...as we spoke in our Message..

the Cranks are worth about $500.oo to 600.oo

so....you scored BIG TIME my friend!!!

and The red Pro neck is rough...but worth all of 80.oo

the MX 1000's are worth about 100 bones for the rear and the Lever.

I have a set of those Aluminium CW Standars..
they are pretty dope bars!!
for the small guys that won't snap em.

again...great score Steve...
those Cranks are not 401's like you said in the PM..

they are the BOMB DIGITY!!! 400's ( thumbs up!! )

peace,
Kev.

I told Kev that this came at a good time since we have about $5000 in medical bills
staring at us and our master bath and closet flooded last week and cost us $900 in tile work.

Thanks again Kev for being a stand up guy and looking out for me.

You did real, real, good on that find. Is it just me or do those look like CW cruiser bars? They sure don't look tall enough to be pro bars.

The best part of the whole thing was me showing my wife what the cranks were
on the bike and telling her how much Kev said they were worth and her response...

"That's incredible...and the fact that they are on a girl's bike too!"

LOL!
