Hi!

Does anyone know if 7/8 or 1 inch handlebars are the same ? If not what are the difference. Will 1 inch bar fit into the stem which was made for a 7/8 bars?

Please let me know anyone. Thanks!

at the hand grip area, I believe all bicycle handlebars are 7/8". It just depends on wether or not the bar is bulged out to 1" diameter at the clamp area, or has an added over-sleeve in the clamp area. And of course the stem has to be compatible.

I think most BMX stems are for 7/8" clamping. Cruiser type stems are usually for 1" clamping.

Thank you once again!

Those motorcycle bars you ordered are probably 1" at the grip location too, so you will need motorcycle 1" grips. Most bicycle grips are 7/8"

Noted with thanks!! So is 7/8 bigger then a 1" Bar? I was planning to use this handlebar which I brought already.

1" = 8/8"
7/8" is 1/8" less than 1"

I tried answering the "So is 7/8 bigger then a 1" Bar? " question as well as I could without being a smart ( )( ). :D

Early Harley and most Brit bikes run a 7/8 bar. Note that when buying motorcycle grips they may be two different sizes depending on the size you purchase. If you buy 1" motorcycle grips one is for the 1" side while the other is meant to fit over the throttle slide and will actually be 1 1/8".

Does anyone know the inside diameter of 7/8" bars?

Just measured a set and it's just a hair under 3/4" . About 18.5mm

That would depend on what kind of tubing and the wall thickness. .120 - .065 wall are most commonly used for motorcycle bars, but even those will vary, depending on what steel and drawing process was used.
