SImple solution to your complex problem. Reorder the hardware. You will need to have some threads added to accommodate this method.

Thanks YH, that looks sharp!!!
It that a Monark 5 bar?

I just saw this bike deep in the gallery thread. I love the color combo.
For my Hawthorne, may Candy Red for the interior color and Candy Green on the outer edges.

Cool! I'm really digging the Monark fork and enclosed guard! Might just have to build mine like that!

Interestingly, my frame was also owned by Nick at one point! :D -Adam

I think all cool bikes must pass through Nick's hands.
What did you end up doing with yours?

Just have caught up with this one, I'm hooked!
Like everyone else, the Monark springer gets the job in my eyes. But I definitely don't like the raised up front! If you have to space it, please do it on the top!
The chain guard and rack really go nicely with it also!

This may be just me, but my first impression makes me think flat-track bike! I'm thinking 24" fat knobby tires front and back, a low sprung saddle hugging the frame and rack, short MX bars and a couple of number plates. Heavy, fast and dirty!

Couldn't find exactly what I'm seeing, but here's one in the ball park...

Can you see it?

Your's is a true 5 bar. My frame style was actually called a Twin Bar.
