Not a rat, but still a find.

I just picked this up today. It is a 1974 Le Tour - Opaque Blue. It is the 21 inch frame. Based on my research it looks like this was the first year for the Le Tour. It has a lot of features I would not suspect a bike this old to have, like center pull brakes and quick release hubs. But i don't know too much about road bikes. The bike is in excellent condition. i haven't even given it an initial clean and it looks this good. It looks like somebody just bought it and parked it. The tires are toast, but everything else is beautiful. Sorry for the crummy pics, it was dark out.

Wow...it is a beauty...chrome forks and high flanged hubs...very cool.

Will look awesome with a new set of gum walls. :wink:

It is funny you guys said that. My mom found the bike at a thrift shop and she called me at work. I believe her exact words were, " I found a nice looking light blue schwinn with some fancy Leopard print tires." at first I thought it was going to be a lowrider style bike.

Nice bike, leopard print sidewalls and all! Now all you need is a pair of them yellow plaid shorts like that guy is sporting in the ad and you'll be stylin! :lol:
 
This was my first "real bike" when I was 15, had few responsibilities, and didn't care about getting a drivers license. It was the same blue. It ended up getting stolen from me about 2 years later, and I ended up getting a Super Le Tour.
I would be very interested in buying this bike from you if you intend on selling it.
