Here is a pic of a 1972 Schwinn Varsity I picked up from Craigslist for "a song" from the original owner. I'm planning to Rat it Out the best I can given it's such a tall frame (and I'm a tall rider...6'3")
I started by removing the front wheel and replacing with with a wheel from an old coaster brake Beach Cruiser. I love the way the fat tires fill up the forks... Any suggestions for cleaning up the whitewalls? I want them to really "POP" when I replace the original decals.
Next, I stripped some parts off the front end and replaced the original handlebars with low-hanging "single-speed" type bars that I plan on shortening by several inches
I'm not fond of this skinny stock seat post, and I'd really like to create/find a laid-back post...any suggestions?
