Finally, the entire frame has been covered with the cleaning process down to 1000 grit simple green wetsand.

The lighting in the courtyard wasn't doing the Duralium justice, so I went out in the lane to catch some rays.

When I saw that first pic I thought for a moment those black marks on the upper seat stay were holes.
Guess I better lay off the Champipple.

There's always the ol' Cream of Tartar sauce method of polishing aluminum too. I used that on the Fisher CR7 build back in BO #13. Wow. Just saying that makes it seem so long ago!

There will be some level of polish, just not sure if it will be to the same shine as SaltHammer was.

I'm in again. This will be my 11th Build Off build. So far I've finished 1st (twice), 2nd, 3rd(twice), 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 26th; I was shooting for 8th place this year, but this year I'm shooting for 11th!!!

I don't know if I can crank it one louder like Nigel Tufnel , but I hope that I can take my Monark Silver King Hextube to the HEXtreme.

Here is a pic of the frame when I got it back in 2018. It's been sitting in my office since then.

I scored some killer McFly billet Iron Cross wheels last year and hope to be able to use them on HEXtreme.

Here they are with my RRB Model Bash Up

That's all I have for tonight. I brought the frame and wheels home Friday and will start brainstorming and working on the bike today after I wake up.
I'm ready to have another fun year with my build brothers and sisters. As always, it's sure to be a blast!!!
Those look like some real sweet wheels

I've never used any special tools to install BB bearing cups other than a hammer and occasionally a block of wood. I really didn't want blows to shock this cast Duralium BB, so I went to Home Depot last night.

My bearing cup press didn't work perfectly, but combined with my old methods it did the trick with minimal impact on the BB. The only problem was allignment. The press on its own didn't force allignment of the cups. So I had to remove the press a couple of times, and use the buffer wood and hammer to provide some adjustment whacks. In the end these were lesser blows and the press pulled the cups in cleanly.

I think the Lawless billet aluminum bearing cups look awesome in the frame. Shiny is good. Don't be whiny about the shiny. ;)
