    Road Bike Tires and Wheels?

I do not know much about the sizing for road bike tires and wheels. I have someone that needs new wheels for her road bike. It has 700 x 25 tires on it. Most of the wheels I found are 700 x 20. Will they work together? Thanks, Mike

Shop Open, Not Done, But Open

Well I finally got the shop open. Still waiting for some cabinets and some other little things to finish. There is a lot of things I still need to stock, but I wanted to at least get the doors open and try to sell some stuff. I don't really have much for the rat rodders. My son has the BMX and...

    Fuji Bikes?

What do you think about Fuji bikes? I am thinking about them for in my shop because they have a low minimum order to get started and don't seam to mind a smaller shop. I don't know anything about them. Thanks for your opinions!

    Free Burrito

I have never seen a burrito bike except on here until today. I was driving down the road and spotted one leaning against a pole outside the "Needles Of Fury" tattoo shop. It didn't have a sign or anything, but it caught my eye. I had to go past again about a half hour later and it had this free...

A Couple Of Choppers I Have Been Doing

I have a couple of choppers I have been working on. When I decided to build something, I liked this style of bike. After spending so much time looking at what every one else is building, I want to try a low stretched out one. But for now, I have these done. There is a story that goes with this...

How Not To Make A Fiberglass Tank

I am in the middle of my next project. I saw a post about someone making their own fiberglass tank and wanted to give it a try. I think I am going to call this bike "The Never Ever Again" bike. All in all, it is going well. Just way more time and money then I would have thought. I will post...

    Gearing Suggestions?

I am going to build my next project bike and I am looking for suggestions on gearing. It looks like I will most likely use a 3-speed hub. It will have a 20x3" tire which stands about 1-1/2" taller then a standard 20". The bike will be mainly ridden on Rails-To-Trails, but there are some hills I...

    Stingray, just for fun

I had picked up this 1980 Stingray a while ago. I had thought about restoring it, but when I traced the serial number and found out the year, I decided it wasn't worth it. So just for fun, I redid it with mostly aftermarket parts. The crank and headset are still Schwinn, that and the frame is...

    American Arrow

I found this one today. It is an American Arrow made in Germany. I was told it was bought new for around $300 sometime in 73 or 74. I have no idea how true that is. It is a 23" frame with a 34" stand over height. I checked it over and it looks original except for the tires. The only thing I...

Smallest Wheel A Disc Will Work On?

What's the smallest wheel I can put a disc brake on? After a few quick searches, I am pretty sure I can do it on a 20", what about a 18" or 16". I think even if it will fit, I might have a problem finding a hub with the correct number of spoke holes for the smaller wheels.

    3" Tire on a 20"x2.125 Wheel?

Has any one tried a 3" tire on a 20x2.125" wheel? I saw a post where someone put one on a 24" but didn't state the rim width. I am looking at a tire that has rounded corners and was thinking about trying it for my latest chopper project. What do you think?

    CHOPPERSUS?

Has any one ordered from http://www.choppersus.com ? I am pretty sure I have seen posts telling people to check there, (I know I could search) but that isn't what my question is about. What do you think about their forks? Some of their prices are good, seats, forks, sprockets. Some not so...

    Wood Bleach Deal!!

There is a small paint store in town that seams to have been there forever. I stop in from time to time for some things. I found that they have very good prices on sand paper. Yesterday I was going to be in the area and thought I would stop and pock some up. When I pulled up, there was a sign...

    A few odd ones today

I got a call to pick up a few bikes a guy set by a tree for me. There were a few I know, like a Worldsport, which is very tall, but one I have no idea what it is other then a Schwinn. But there is a Bridgstone Kabuki T-3. It looks like a nice bike. Also is a road bike that has ITOH on it. There...

    Re Pop Stick Shifter?

Does any one make a new stick shifter that can be used on customs or conversions? I have a couple of things in mind and do not want to pay the price for an original. If no one makes them, they should. Right now I am looking for a 3-speed. I am changing a single speed to a 3. Going to try my...

    Murray Eliminator Wildcat I

Murray Eliminator Wildcat I Picked this up today. I don't know anything about this model of bike, any info? The picture is just how I got it. I think it will clean up pretty good. Not too much rust, a few more scratches in the paint then I like. Serial # H2 5232 103 07

    Can I change a coaster Stingray to a 3-speed?

I should know the answer to this by know but this caught me off guard. I have 1980 Stingray that I was going to rebuild. Most of the original parts are gone so I am not concerned about keeping it original. Anyway, I was thinking about changing it to a 3-speed and adding caliper brakes. I wasn't...

    Truing Stand?

What kind of truing stand do you use? I don't like to buy cheap tools, but I also don't like to spend more then I need to. I was planning on buying the Park Pro stand and came across the "Professional Guide To Wheel Building by Roger Musson". It has plans for a stand that you build plus a few...
