    "For Ape Hangers Only" Club

Sounds like i need to give it some muscle. It's a 28" ape hanger bar in a shim in the folded stem of the 20" sears spyder posted a few pages back, so I was kinda pushing it. Just wondering if there were any genius fixes out there I don't know of. Might have to just add a toolbag with a wrench.

I am having trouble keeping my bars from wiggling loose, anyone got a solution? This is my first ape-hanger bike and wow they're springy.

    "For Ape Hangers Only" Club

Hello gents, this is my Sears Spyder before it got fresh paint (same brilliant violet color) and decals. Here it is also sans one headset. Hoping to get it finished for summer. I drilled out the rivets holding the fork reflectors and managed to get them both off and on intact. My greatest...

    My 1939 schwinn excelsior.

I read somewhere that 30's serial numbers were stamped by hand so they are not lined up properly but after the war they were machine stamped and more uniform.

    Western Flyer tandem

Thanks guys, I guess I've decided to keep it OG even though I really have a dislike for tandem anything. Seems a good way of turning a great day on a bike into a crap day on a bike LOL but that's just my independent streak. I put a poll on facebook and nearly everyone said keep it, which I'd...

    Western Flyer tandem

I dislike tandems, but this is aching to be cut into a lowrider or built up to a cycle truck type thing. Fresh from the garage of my divorcing friends. Serial # is 4H217679 if anyone knows how to find the year. Western Flyer headbadge.

Second Cycle Truck in Two Days picked

Re: Second Cycle Truck in Two Days picked Gotta be kidding me! LOL I've been hunting cycletrucks with no luck (besides outrageously priced parts on eBay) - don't know how many of them made it to the Rocky Mountains... Congrats!

    stingrays, an inconvienant truth

Pretty sure it was just a figure of speech referring to bikes in general and not saying that a samurai is Chinese but anyhoo, I am equally snobbish about Schwinns and wouldn't be flinging money around unless it's real steel... seen too many dept store bikes rust up in the first season and leave...

I've only been a member for a second, but already I feel the need to build original slipping away! My parts bin is looking a lot more interesting since joining
