Rat Rod
Owner & Founder
Yesterday Mr. FedEx dropped of something cool at RRB Headquarters (my house).
Gary Silva, owner of 3G Bikes sent me one of his newest bikes, the 2015 Newport BBW 8 Speed Cruiser. This beast has to be shipped in two boxes due to the new 80mm wheel set.
As with all of 3G Bikes products, the quality and attention to detail is very nice. Gary focuses pretty heavily on the beach rental market so his bikes are designed to be super comfortable and durable. Everything is geared towards standing up to the harsh environment of salt air. This particular bike has an aluminum frame and fork. Just about everything on the bike is alloy with the exception of the handlebars, brake disks and the chainring. Sealed bearings is another nice feature on this bike. All bearings are sealed including the 100mm bottom bracket, headset bearings and wheel bearings.
Full Bike Specs
Now for the eye candy...
These are large cruisers and can't be truly appreciated until seen in person. I'm 5'9" tall and ride the bike comfortably at the seat height setting that you see in the pics above. People see this bike and usually respond with.... "WHOA....now that's a very cool bike."
Gary is obsessed with frame geometry and wants all of his bikes to be the most comfortable cruisers on the market. The foot forward and upright riding geometry make this Newport the easiest to ride cruiser I've been on. There's a reason 3G cruisers tend to dominate the sales in the shops that they are sold in and it's because of the comfort factor.
