Re: FireWing 53 Columbia 3 Star-6/10 Ramshorn Question??

Your courtyard is mostly brick... I'd start there.

Re: FireWing 53 Columbia 3 Star-6/10 Ramshorn Question??

I just bought these blocks on the bay. I should be able to replace the black blocks on the teardrops.

That was fast.

I couldn't find them at first, then I searched for Torrington and found these blocks for much cheaper than the pedals.

Re: FireWing 53 Columbia 3 Star-6/11 1948 Chrysler Tail Light

Finished up the fender work the other day, so tonight I did some cutting and grinding on the 1948 Chrysler tail light.

Re: FireWing 53 Columbia 3 Star-6/11 1948 Chrysler Tail Light

the whole bike is looking cool and that tail light is sweet. keep up the good work, and good luck.

Re: FireWing 53 Columbia 3 Star-6/11 1948 Chrysler Tail Light

Really, digging the light!
It's size really balances the front light, springer, handlebars, etc.....

PS, you bought my pedal blocks! I've been watching those for my Higgins build! :D

Good thing for me is, I may bring one of my pedals with me on vacation, so I can see if they'll fit mine!

Cheers!

thanks guys! I am pretty pleased so far with the light as well. There isn't enough of it to wraparound at it's lowest point, but I think that will be fine. I could try filling it in with flashing, but I think it will look fine without it.

Tank, that seller already posted another set of pedal blocks. I think he has a ton of them.

Re: FireWing 53 Columbia 3 Star-6/13 RedBlockPedals+CleanSkirts

The red blocks came in quickly. I may have to dirty them up a little bit but I like them.

Stripped and sanded the skirt guards too.
Also did some tweaking of them with pliers, ball peen hammer, and my cobbler's anvil.

cool pedals!

Re: FireWing 53 Columbia 3 Star-6/15 Painted Skirts + Leather

Did some final tweaking and sanding to the skirt guards then painted them.

I also sanded and painted the seat braces flat black. Here is one behind the skirt guard.

Decided to try the yard sale leather on the seat. Trying to decide if it is too light or not.

Played around with some acrylic paint in the veins of the leather.
