I'm 30/70 now (going vs not going)

The ride is next Saturday. I just got some parts that "should" work today.

I haven't ridden a rigid mtn bike on a trail since the 90's. The frame and fork are late 70's and haven't been ridden in 20+ years. Some parts are original, some will be from a 1983 mtn bike. The bike was likely brought out to colorado FOR this ride in the late 70's/early 80's.

I'm not very fit, haven't ridden a mtn bike since July, and the start of the ride is at 8900 feet.
Oh, and you HAVE to push your bike for the last 2 hours or so no matter what kind of bike you have.

Just make sure Austin and john I. are with you !

That's not a ride. That's a walk.
I think you meant, "That's the Bataan Death March."

Easy then...Yep, I`d be going for sure. Wish I was in reasonable driving range to go too!

ended up just running full cable housing and using a bottom pull with a shim (made from a stem adapter, cut in half).

Still no idea how I'd get there (4-5 hours away), or get back from Aspen.

Rode the bike to work this morning. Still needs 1-3 hrs tweaking but feels fairly comfortable.

ps
the bike is from this score earlier this year http://ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=37961
