What do you guys think ?..no Model, Just "Schwinn" on down-tube..and on the seat tube "MTN"
got this one off my local scrapper.give $ 5.00 for a bike...you know, the price of a bicycle tube. Scrap is so low now, I doubt they even get 2 bucks for it at the grind yard.
It was beat up, but not too bad, liked the lines...so,Brought it home, stripped it down. clean, brush, de rust,touch up, wax, grease, etc....It had the grip shifting which was shattered, plus i don't like it..so, I got rid of the front derailleur, soaked , cleaned re installed rear derailleur put on a thumb shifter Shimano thing from some other bike and adjusted rear gearing...new old seat..new old rear tire...new(old) cable housing from other stuff.rolls and stops tight...shifts smooth, it's fun to ride..anyway, that's not the story, I'm off track
On the Headbadge are 4 numbers..0199. Japan...research says means it was made on the 19th day of 1999 or 2009 ( some year ending in 9) it's up to you to figure out which year Based on Components
anyway...PLEASE take a look at photos and give me a name...
Mostly I'm curious what MODEL it is and year...or close..probably flip it or just park it in the shed for later. (parts or rebuild)

- aluminum crank arms
- 3 pc. crankset
- linear pull brakes...arms are aluminum..(love those)
- Long seatpost, inserts 2/3 of way into seat tube
- rear dérailleur is 7 spd. (Shimano MegaRange)
- had grip shifting, as said
- nice sturdy rear aluminum rack labeled Schwinn. seems original to bike since it was rusted fast same overall patina as bike
