Just spotted this on craigslist for $25 and I'm sure its worth every penny.
Any idea what year range this "vintage" is?
I'm trying to talk myself out of buying it as I have no need for a kids bike but the price is hard to resist.

The ad is short...
Nice vintage schwinn 20" bike with new tires/wheels, front fork with hand brake and banana seat.

Its a 20" tire bike. If it was 26" it would already be home with me lol.

If I had kids it would be home already as well or if it had riser or ape hanger bars.

Think I need to start selling my bikes again to get new additions.

I know that springer is more than $25 new.

So tempted

I wish my friends kids went so destructive or I'd get it for them; I'm always fixing there bikes lol.

If I had bigger walls I'd so hang it up as a conversation piece.

that's worth 25 bucks all day long!!!
i have noticed living in Nebraska flipping bicycles isn't as easy as it seems.
but still 25 bucks is not a bad price.
a quick breakdown on what that bike could make in parts if you went that route.
and these are quick move prices if you don't mind sitting it out you could get more but ehre goes.
springer fork easily worth 60 bucks.
wheel set easily worth 40 bucks tires worth another 40 easily.
seat another 20 bucks.
shorty sissy bar i just sold one of those for 25 buck in worse shape then that one
crankest 25 bucks.
frame 40 bucks.
handlebars and stem 20 bucks
so that's 270 in parts alone
or you could resell the bike for 50 bucks i bet it would move for that.
good luck with it
Sean

Hey another Nebraska rrb member. This is awesome.

I sent an email within 3 minutes of the ad going up and another a little bit ago but haven't heard back on it.

As for vintage, the frame is a Chicago Schwinn. So it was made before 1984. It's hard to see any features from the pic that would narrow it down. It sure looks like a 26" bike, but maybe it's a short banana seat and small chain ring that give it that look.

That's a 26" frame. Look at the space where a tank would go. The 20" cantilever frame doesn't look anything like that.
Also look at the head tube length. A 20" has a very short head tube. That bike has a 6.5" tube. Too bad you didn't get it, we'd know for sure. Gary

I wanted to go check it out and probably get it.
Wish when people checked there email they would look at the first to respond first instead of being lazy and just selling to the person that was to email when they check.

Oh well got my 1946?47 CWC frame today for $30.

Yea I'm happy got a good price and its a very early post war frame.
Need to figure out if I can change the title of my build thread lol.
