Hey y'all! This is my first time entering, let alone restoring a bicycle. Gonna be an expierence for me! I got myself a 68 Screamer a couple weeks ago and decided to enter. Here's how I bought it. Someone decided to replace the dual rear brakes for a Stingray 5spd brake. And I got a big ol Stingray Slik on the back. Excited to see where this bike will take me.

Welcome aboard! Keep the updates coming, we love progress reports, and photos!

This community is a great place to get ideas and input during a build. Lots of 'tricks of the trade'to share and exchange of methods and custom tips.

Cool start to your build!

Wow, nice score! Welcome to the build-off madness, it's addictive and very fun. That's a great project you've got there. Looks like a good candidate for an original patina build. Good luck!

Like oddjob said welcome love those stickers. You've come to the right place to do a first.

A little weekend update: took the bike to a car show so I could stay busy while sitting there for 8 hours. Did a little cleaning up before dismantling just to see where I need to focus on first

Don't worry, Tweety will be back. That sticker just wasn't holding up unfortunately

The handlebars held up under all that electrical tape. Lookin mighty fine. I got some Hunt Wilde red handlebar tape on the way. I know it isn't the glorious gold but it'll do for me in this moment.

This was taken after the car show before I started taking stuff apart. Just having the chrome cleaned up makes it look 10x better

Hello neighbor! Nice to see another Oklahoman join the Rat Rod Bikes neighborhood. I remember seeing that Murray on Marketplace about a month ago; nice to see it went to a good home. Those Murray twin-tubes are some of my favorite bikes. Good luck fixing up your Screamer! That bike's bound to look a lot better once you've fixed it up!

Looking forward to seeing more progress posts! Cool bike to start with on a muscle build!

Sorry for the long awaited update. Got this bike apart in my storage unit. Just bought the rear dual brake on Ebay, should be here in about a week. Real wheel cleaned up nicely. Still have to do the front and get those tires back on. Haven't really touched it in the time I've been inactive. I'm excited to get it put back together!
