Schwinn Hornet?

Hey all! I haven't been here in a long time and it's great to see how big this addiction has gotten. Lol
I'm trying to identify this Schwinn. Serial says it was made 6-15-1953. I'm pretty sure it is a Hornet but it has a locking springer fork which looks like it came from another bike. I'm just making sure it is what it is and identify the original parts. Thanks for any help.

Illustration from the 1954 catalog matches the closest, but the Hornet wasn't equipped with a springer fork, only truss bars. Upgrade?

I might be mistaken but I'm thinking these are Black Phantom locking forks. They still have the key in great condition.
