I realize this is a stretch, but an old friend has an old bike...heard this before...and the best we can make out the serial number is:
C680 --- 197 The Serial # is on the CC and the C680 is apart from the rest of the number. There may be 3 or 4 numbers in between the numbers we can read, but it is anybody's guess.
The chain guard says "Roadster". The bike is in pretty rough shape but the shape of the chainguard is correct. The sprocket looks like the old Monark tear drop pattern and it has a New Departure rear hub.
