Pantina or Primer?

I have a 50's Rollfast that I saved from the Scrap Guy. I am planning a triple tree fork and bobbed fenders. I can't decide if I should keep the red or go with a black primer or suede. Here's the frame all stripped down.

Keep the red, I think a flat black looks good but you lose character.
