Headset / Bottom Bracket replacements?

Has anyone found a good, no joke replacement for OEM headsets and bottom brackets for Huffy and Murray? First, I can't remember which was Schwinn and which was Murray/Huffy between 24 and 28 tpi for the BB. The last bottom bracket I built I pieced together enough good parts to make it work. And the last 1" headset I bought from a Taiwan manufacturer had cups that were too small for the head tube. (I'm assuming it's a 1" headset?)

Has anyone had better luck than I?

Not going to be much help on the headset. I usually clean and reuse the cups unless really bad, sometimes new bearing fit, sometimes no - the ones on my 68 24" Spyder are screwy diameter, even compared to other murray ( newer ) that I have.
Schwinn is the oddball on the BB, that and vintage Mongoose BMX = 28 tpi.
One GOOD thing I learned on Schwinn is the fork threads seem same,1"-24.

They should be Wald items, and I believe the thread is 24. I see Murray headsets pop up on eBay from time to time, they are just Wald items repackaged. Here is one from a good seller:
