This is real interesting..love what you got going on so far.

Love the exercise bike sprocket with the luck seven rear on that other bike.

So while most people out here where BBQ-ing or going to the beach this memorial day
I spent most of it working on an idea to add a little flair to the fork

I decided to make the tension mechanism from the exerciser into a truss rod

Starting point

Original mounting orientation
20170531_090457_zpsrt5odfmh.jpg

the new flipped orientation
*This part took longest to figure out
I tried many different orientations
but this worked best

Removed tension springs

Made up some extender pieces using
aluminum rod
electrical wire connectors
and snap rivet pieces for washers

attached the mounting plate to the top of the fork
I plan on using the back hole as a mount for the speedo from the exerciser
the side hole will get trimmed off

But that fender just does not look right to me on the front so first thing to do is install it on the rear
needs a little shimming but you get the Idea for now

Then put on the crank and sprocket
Compared to all the work when I put one of these on a cruiser frame
this required only flipping the sprocket to clear
It is almost as this bike was made for it

looks faster already

Decided while I waited for the upcoming Long beach cycle swap (to see if they have the ND sprocket I needed) to build a test mule to see if a 20 tooth would work or if i did need a larger 22 tooth

Built this with parts from older projects and upcoming projects
24" huffy good vibrations frame
24x1.75 rear tire

I think I shall call my little mule "Pepe"

I really like the re-use of the Exerciser parts. Those truss rods are cool!

Success

I found a 22 tooth sprocket for the new departure at the LB cycle swap
had to buy 2 internals with it
but in all cost was 15$

the little mule has been ok to ride with the 20 tooth sprocket
BUT...

...that chain clearance is quite close
I dont know if a 20 tooth sprocket would have even worked with the chain on it

Now that my backup build is nearing completion I can get started on the main build
B/MSR (battle mountain street rod)
if you remember the roadster frame from the begining of this thread

the wheels are now on order and should be ready to start after July 4th

so inspiration is this

Thanx for the compliment on the truss rods
I tried to do something that I had not seen done with those tension brakes
