bottom brackets

A quick question, can an older schwinn frame use a 24 tpi bottom bracket or does it have to be the 28 tpi? It seems there are a lot more 24 tpi parts around rather then 28 tpi.

depends on what crank you are using... new or old?

I am using a new crank so would 24 tpi work?

But what if I decide to go with a old crank what would work?

if you are going to use a new crank on an old schwinn you have to use new parts that would thread onto the crank. you can use the old cups and bearings but the other schwinn stuff wont work on the new crank.
