50's 24" Schwinn Spitfire?

Wondering if these are common? probably not as much as the 26" ? its im guessing 50's? has same type of paint job as this bike (bored from this site) http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3910/pict0193b.jpg

I hopefully going to aquire this bike tomorrow my plan is to basically do the same as the one in the pic... apes, banana seat, its complete minus the bars and seat. still has schwinn wheels, chainguard etc. what years did they have that paint job?

50's 24" Schwinn Spitfire?

I have a '54 24" Schwinn Wasp which looks just like the Spitfire. I have no fenders but I do have truss bars.

That style of paint job is found on D model bikes. The first one painted like that was in the fall of 1940 for the 1941 model bikes and it lasted into the late 50's. Gary
