Well got gear chain and trying this idea... Will need washers and a nut to lock it...but it still allows me to find gear I want and of course still be able to remove the wheel for maintenance

Well my brother did not have anything I could use so have ordered the chain gear indicator off ebay will then have to figure out how to fix it into a single speed [maybe a pipe clip to the frame??] MrG

I was told the bike had been in a shed for ten years and needed some work, but I could have it for free if I wanted it. I collected it and left with a smile on my face. What was wrong well front cones were loose and rear needed a new tyre. Have been quoted $90 for a complete single speed rear...
